Lochgelly Womens Group

The group meet on a Tuesday night every two weeks, it was formed to help mature isolated women in the community to build self esteem and break down the barriers of isolation in the community. They have been meeting now for over a year. The group was originally formed as it was raised during a development forum meeting that there was a lack of amenities for isolated women in the community. The group has increased its membership to 14 ladies who have all benefited from the friendship and camaraderie.

Last year the group organised a successful trip to the Falkirk Wheel, it was highlighted at one of the meetings that the group would like to organise more outings like this. Hopefully this August we will all be enjoying the Tattoo in Edinburgh.

Some members participated in the “Race for Life” at Beveridge Park Kirkcaldy and raised a considerable amount of money for Cancer Research UK, a charity close to many of our hearts.

If you are interested or know of someone who would benefit from joining the group please pop into the Development Forum office Bank Street and have a chat with one of the friendly volunteers, contact us online.

      hi,
I am currently working with St.Serf’s Church in Lochgelly and Benarty. At this point we are seeking the views of the local community about church, community and faith to help the local churches understand the people of the local community is greater depth. To this end we have developed a short online survey (the survey is anonymous) and we are inviting all who live in Lochgelly and Benarty to participate. We would very much appreciate if you could use your links to the community to let people know about this invitation. The online link is

If you have any questions about the survey or its use do get back to me.

      Many thanks

      Allan Vint
